The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is taking part in the training of youth and adults in firearm safety. The demand remains high for the need for firearm safety during hunting situations as well as the safety of guns in the home. The students go through a classroom session as well as a field day which exposes them to common principles of hunting safety and the handling of firearms. The field day includes a live range fire.
