The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is training youth and adults in snowmobile safety. Meeker County has four major snowmobile trails that connect with other trails in our neighboring counties. Deputy Taylor Fenrich answers student's questions regarding the mechanics of the snowmobile prior to test.
This course is designed to teach safe riding techniques, current laws and regulations as well as the correct ethics when riding snowmobiles on state trails or private property. The deputies instruct the students on what to do in case of emergencies and how to report snowmobile accidents. The course includes a handwritten test, riding test, classroom instruction and a visit from a local Department of Natural Resources Officer.
